Art Deco Welcome Center and Museum—Gift Shop
Three architectural styles are predominant in Miami Beach—art deco, Mediterranean revival and MiMo (Miami Modern.) To this mix has been added a new group of buildings designed by contemporary architects carrying on in the tradition of what we now recognize as the Miami Beach School of architecture. These buildings taken together create a unique open air museum of 20th-century architecture, making Miami as renowned for 20th-century architecture as Williamsburg, Virginia, is for its Colonial architecture.
The Art Deco Museum exhibits vintage postcards, photographs, maps, posters, home furnishings, clothing, jewelry, art, memorabilia and videos that tell the story of Miami Beach’s famed Art Deco District and related historic neighborhoods. The Art Deco Welcome Center Gift Shop has all things deco: vintage collectibles, books, jewelry, maps, posters, photographs, T-shirts, gifts, postcards and souvenirs.
Note: Parking is $1.00 per hour.
