If you’re a fan of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Captain America, the Jewish Museum of Florida presents ZAP! POW! BAM! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books 1938-1950.

The exhibit celebrates the Jewish writers and artists that dominated the early days of comic books. Will Eisner, the most influential person in American comics and creator of The Spirit, once said, “We are People of the Book; we are storytellers essentially and anyone who’s exposed to Jewish culture, I think, walks away for the rest of his life with an instinct for telling stories.”

There will be vintage artwork and books on display, along with multi-media presentations and interactive displays that bring superheroes to life for visitors. It’s a great way to trace the origins of your favorite comic book heroes from their Biblical inspirations to their impact on American popular culture.
