Delta Gives Airplane Food an Upgrade

Traditional airplane cuisine

Picture this: you’re flipping through a guidebook daydreaming about your vacation when a flight attendant offers you a fresh Mediterranean salad topped with grilled shrimp and red wine vinaigrette or a buttery croissant filled with apple butter, cheddar cheese, and sliced turkey bacon. Is some sort of parallel universe where airplane food is actually good?
Nope, it’s the new Todd English menu being offered on select Delta Airlines flights starting tomorrow. Several flights out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and other destinations will offer ala cart menu items for purchase like Nutella, jelly, and banana slices on a ciabatta roll, black olive spaghetti salad, or a roast beef steak cobb sandwich. Several other routes will be added in February. Read the Salt Lake Tribune’s complete coverage.

Wow Susan, that certainly sounds better than my memories of airplane food.
Delta also started a recycling program earlier this year — looks like they might be trying to target a whole new time a traveler!
Very nice site!
Bacon is bound to make any airline food tasty!
