Traditional airplane cuisine
Photo uploaded by
Picture this: you’re flipping through a guidebook daydreaming about your vacation when a flight attendant offers you a fresh Mediterranean salad topped with grilled shrimp and red wine vinaigrette or a buttery croissant filled with apple butter, cheddar cheese, and sliced turkey bacon. Is some sort of parallel universe where airplane food is actually good?
Nope, it’s the new menu being offered on select flights starting tomorrow. Several flights out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and other destinations will offer ala cart menu items for purchase like Nutella, jelly, and banana slices on a ciabatta roll, black olive spaghetti salad, or a roast beef steak cobb sandwich. Several other routes will be added in February. .

Miami sports fan are wondering… is the window of opportunity still open for the ? The two centerpieces of this team are still in place but and Dewayne Wade are now 2 years removed from that championship, 2 years older and for Wade, 2 surgeries later.
The off season moves leave a lot to be desired with the signings of Penny Hardaway (yes that Penny now 36), DeQuan Cook, Smush Parker and Alexander Johnson. Gone are sharpshooter Jason Kopono and veterans James Posey and Eddie Jones. This team may be hard pressed to repeat last years disappointing 1st round exit from the playoffs-bottom line, it all depends on the health of those 2 centerpieces.
This aging team still employs the likes of Antoine Walker and Alonso Mourning. The ever dapper 5 time World Champion coach Pat Riley will try to will this team to the playoffs which may be a tall order but with a special player like DeWayne Wade, anything is possible.
If the pre-season is any indication of things to come, 0-7 for the first time in team history, the Heat may be in for a long season which begins at home against the Detroit Pistons on November 1st. The good news, South Beach is a 10 minute drive from the arena!

Miami not only shares LA’s warm, sunny weather, but also it’s popularity as a movie mecca (though admittedly on a smaller scale). Here, courtesy of Wikipedia, are some popular movies that were filmed in Miami:
- Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
- Adaptation
- In Her Shoes
- Meet the Fockers
- There’s Something About Mary

The great thing about travel blogs is that they reflect what’s happening now, not six months or a year ago when someone was updating a guidebook. So I was a bit surprised to discover that there aren’t a lot of travel blogs offering in-depth city-specific advice for travel destinations across the United States.
Whether you’re visiting Miami for the first time or if you’re rediscovering this exciting city, I hope that this blog will arm you with advice and tips to make your trip to Miami more convenient and affordable. Check back for updates on restaurants, tours, attractions, and more!
